Testing Procedure

1. Sample Collection: Take a 2-3 ml blood sample from the ruminant animal 28 days post-insemination.
2. Adding the Sample: Add two (2) drops (approx. ) of whole blood, serum, or plasma to the sample well of the test card.
3. Adding Diluent: Add two (2) drops (approx. ) of sample diluent to the sample well.
4. Read Result: Wait for 20 minutes to read the result.
   • Optimal testing conditions – Please test in a clean, flat area.

 Result Interpretation

• Pregnant: Presence of a clear or faint test line (T), along with the Control line (C). Any intensity of the test line is considered pregnant.
• Open (Non-Pregnant): Absence of the test line (T), but the Control line (C) is present.
• Invalid: No color band appears at the control line (C).

 

Precautions and Warnings

• If the test line (T) is very faint or unclear, there may be a risk of embryo loss. It’s recommended to retest after 7-10 days for more accurate results.
• The test can accurately identify non-pregnant ruminants as early as 28 days post-breeding.
• The test can be used over 85 days post-calving.
• The accuracy depends on the proper collection and preservation of the sample. Improper collection, poor storage, or contaminated samples can affect the results.
